Put Some of the Bank’s Money in Your Pocket with These Accounts
Nothing beats getting some extra money for doing something you need to do anyway, and that’s exactly what you can do by opening a new bank account at the right bank.
Not every bank offers a “new account bonus”, and even the banks that do offer these sign-up bonuses offer them for every account. The best deal for you may also be affected by other factors like what type of account you need, so finding the best option can quickly become a nightmare. It’s time to sort through some of the hassles and show you some accounts you can open today that will put money in your pocket for free.

The Chase College Checking Account – $100
This account is obviously aimed at college students. It only takes an initial deposit of just $25 to open the account, and as long as you complete 10 transactions or more in the first 60 days after you open it, your account will be eligible to get $100. (1)
Up To $600 Free from Chase On Other Accounts
Chase has another offer for a different type of account, or rather, two different types of accounts. If you open a Chase Total Checking account, get one direct deposit into the account in the first 60 days, you can get a $300 cash bonus.
Likewise, if you open a Chase Savings account as well, deposit at least $15,000 within 20 business days and then keep your balance at $15,000 or greater for 90 days, you can get another $200 bonus.
If you complete the requirements for both of those bonuses, Chase throws in an additional $100 bonus, bringing the total to $600 you could receive. (2)
Unity Financial Credit Union – $100
Some people may not have heard of Unity, but they offer a nice bonus for those that open a free checking or e-checking account. If you have a recurring direct deposit of at least $500 added to your account within the first three months, you’ll get an extra $100 deposited into your account at the end of the third month.
You do have to be a member of the Unity Financial Credit Union to qualify, but residents from all 50 states are eligible to join. (3)
Bank of America – $100
This is a fairly simple bonus to get; once you open a Core Checking or Interest Checking account and get two or more direct deposits of at least $250 dollars in the first three months, you’ll get a $100 cash bonus. It takes $25 to open a Core Checking account, while $100 will open an Interest Checking account. (4)
TD Bank – $150 to $300
You can apply for two different types of accounts with TD Bank online and qualify for cash bonus offers.
The Premier account has a $25 monthly maintenance fee unless you maintain a balance of at least $2,500, but if you have direct deposits of at least $2,500 in the first two months, you can get a $300 bonus.
Another choice is the TD Bank Premier Checking account. For this account, you’ll have a $15 maintenance fee if your daily balance drops below $100, and you must have direct deposits of at least $500 in the first two months.
The requirements are less, and so is the bonus; this account offers a $150 signup bonus. (5)
Cash signup bonuses are offered by many banks, but the offerings do change on a regular basis. You’ll have to do your research to find the best deals that are available. As always, search around and compare your options; the right option for you might just pay dividends sooner rather than later…in the form of cold, hard cash.
